The church today..

Recently, I have been trying to hear God about several different things in my life. I am currently resigning from my worship leader position at the church I have been involved with for the past couple of years. Some of my frustrations with the church have been brewing in me for a long time. I have become saddened when I see the churches in my area who are fighting for attendance not for the fact that they want people for community but to simply keep the doors open. I see many churches who have their gimmicks with flashy production and shallow teachings of the Bible and it agitates me. I understand that the people have "good hearts" and want to see people come into the church but their motives seem tainted. It makes me feel very fortunate to be apart of a church community that understands the value of relationship over gimmicks.
